Support Coordination

Our team is here to find services that support the goals of young people with a disability which need to be provided by a specific professional. This may be arranging physiotherapy to improve mobility, a psychologist to work through trauma and therapy to improve communication, anxiety, depression. They can also organise doctors, group classes and training. Finding the right disability services for teenagers can completely change their future.

Respite

If a carer needs an emergency place a young person to retreat to respite might be the best choice. Respite can be a lifesaving support for teenagers in crises. We can ordinate overnight accommodation or longer for the young person to relax and refocus.  They can let out all that energy and recharge with 24/7 support from our support workers. Carelink Qld's youth services is aimed at providing support for young people with a disability and their families.

Mentorship

Why It's important.

50% of all mental health disorders begin by age 14, often with lifelong impact. Adolescence is a complex time with so much change, physical and emotional, we can't stop change, but we can help young people cope with it.

Did you know?

1 in 4 young people feel lonely all or most of the time.

Suicide is the leading cause of death for young people.

1 in 4 young people will experience bullying at school.

1 in 12 are disengaged from education and work.

1 in 6 feel negative or very negative about the future.

Research shows young people who are mentored have lower levels of depression, higher sense of wellbeing, know where to go for support and are more likely to find employment and their future path.

We work with leading mentoring programs across Australia to ensure best practice and effective outcomes for young people.
